Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, known as LUVN, has selected Tandem as its AI assistant partner. The decision follows a competitive tender and a pilot project. It's Tandem's largest deployment in Finland to date.

Around 7000 social and health care professionals work across LUVN's services. The goal is for Tandem to be in use by all of them by the end of 2027. That's the scale this partnership starts at.

LUVN and Tandem

LUVN is a nationally recognised frontrunner in Finland for renewing services and adopting new technology. It selected Tandem through a competitive tender, in which the solution was assessed as the strongest on quality.

Tandem's AI Scribe, Coding Assistant and Clinical Decision Support are independently certified under EU MDR as Class IIa medical devices. Tandem is also certified to ISO 27001 and ISO 13485, and complies with GDPR and local patient data protection law.

AI supports the professional, responsibility remains with the human

Tandem drafts an entry from the conversation between the professional and the client or patient. The professional reviews, edits and approves it themselves. The record, the decisions, and the client's or patient's care stay with the professional throughout.

Tandem is used in more than 5,000 care organisations across Europe, including ten wellbeing services counties in Finland and organisations in the private sector.

What happens now

Rollout starts in September 2026, in the services that already piloted AI-assisted documentation. From there, it expands in phases across the rest of LUVN, so the new way of working fits each professional group before it scales further.

The two-year pilot showed AI can ease documentation and lighten the workload that comes with it, and those lessons now carry into the wider rollout. With around 7000 social and health care professionals and a clear adoption goal from LUVN's county council, this is a flagship reference for AI-assisted documentation in Finnish public healthcare.
