Tandem Health ranks No. 1 in the Sifted AI 100 2026

Tandem Health is ranked No. 1 on the Sifted AI 100 2026, Sifted's ranking of Europe's most promising AI-native startups valued under $1bn. The list, sponsored by N47, went live on 15 October 2026.

This year's list covers 100 companies from 17 countries, and we’re honoured that Tandem sits at the top.

How Sifted built the ranking

Sifted started in July with a longlist of 1,500 European companies. Each had to be AI-native, founded in 2019 or later, independent, private and valued under $1bn.

A scoring model cut that to 175, based on fundraising performance, investor strength and employee growth. A judging panel from Sifted's intelligence team and N47's investment team then scored each company on market opportunity, competitive differentiation and momentum. The 100 highest scores made the final list, in ranked order. With just over half of this year's list (51 companies) building vertical AI for a single sector, funding into that group is up 39 per cent on last year.

What we're building

Clinical AI is arriving in European healthcare as a scatter of point tools, each with its own login, procurement route and safety case. Clinicians end up juggling them, and care providers end up governing all of them separately.

We’re building the AI-native operating system for Europe, supporting the whole journey from pre-consultation patient flow, through the visit, to the admin that follows. It starts with three connected products: an AI medical scribe for documentation, a Coding Assistant and Clinical Decision Support. Each is certified as Class IIa medical device under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR) and developed with more than 100 in-house clinicians, who help onboard and steer the work because they know the pain points better than anyone, and are used in 10,000 care organisations across 14 markets.

Our goal is to return one billion hours to European clinicians, so that time goes back to the patient in front of them.

To quote our CEO and Co-founder Lukas Saari when speaking to Sifted about where this growth came from, he said: “It’s mainly down to us having the most expensive customer service in the world. Our entire GTM team has a clinical background, so one of our customers might end up getting tech support from a top neurosurgeon.”
