Partnership

Since late summer, professionals in physiotherapy and occupational therapy at the City of Helsinki have used Tandem. They say they feel more present in appointments, with less documentation burden and duplicate work.

Tandem is now integrated into Apotti, the client and patient record system used by the City of Helsinki and the Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county. Apotti is built on the Epic platform, and the integration uses a modern API. Professionals can use Tandem in their Apotti workflow, and the notes it drafts move straight into the client and patient record.

In the partners' words

"Our collaboration with Tandem Health addresses the challenges of day-to-day documentation and makes professionals’ work much more efficient"

Iina Vartia, toimitusjohtaja, Oy Apotti Ab

"Everything they do shows we share a goal: making the work of health and social care professionals easier with modern AI tools. I've been especially impressed by Apotti's interface capabilities, which have made this integration possible."

Johan Sanmark, Country Director, Tandem Health

AI supports the professional, responsibility remains with the human

Tandem's AI Scribe listens to the conversation during an encounter and drafts a note. The Coding Assistant suggests suitable diagnosis codes.

The professional reviews and completes every note before saving it. The client is informed at the start of the appointment, and if they prefer, the professional writes the notes without Tandem. No client data is stored in Tandem or used to train it.

Tandem's products are independently certified under EU MDR as Class IIa medical devices. Tandem is also certified to ISO 27001 and ISO 13485, and complies with GDPR and local patient data protection law.

Tandem is used in more than 10,000 health and social care organisations across Europe, including ten wellbeing services counties in Finland and organisations in the private sector. In a survey by the South Savo wellbeing services county, 94 per cent of respondents said their wellbeing at work had improved, and more than half estimated they save over 10 minutes per note.

What happens now

The City of Helsinki and the Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county are among Finland's largest providers of social and health care services. During October, the Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county starts using Tandem in Apotti. In Helsinki, use expands to further units, including social services, student health care and dental care.

Helsinki and Vantaa and Kerava are running their pilots at the same time, each leading its own timeline, goals and users, to see how Tandem fits different services. Read more about Helsinki's pilot in the City of Helsinki's press release below.
